"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Unclaimed Lottery Winnings

Attention:

We are an agency newly set-up by the United Nations Organization with a mandate to see that all individuals who won various lotto prizes and are yet to claim their winnings both in the past and the present times are duly paid their winning sums. We were set-up due to the persistent complaints of lotto prize winners to the United Nations Organization of their inability to access and claim their winnings.

Various files containing names of lotto winners were sent to our office by different lotto boards and companies worldwide in compliance with the United Nations Organization directive, whilst winning sums have also been deposited in different banks by various lotto companies to meet prompt payments to those who won different prize monies.

The reason we are contacting you is that your name, email, phone number, home address and lotto winning information are contained in one of this files. Reliable information reaching us states that you were not able to claim your winnings due to your persistent communication with fraudulent characters who claim to be what they are not, who frequently impersonate the identity of real lotto officials to help make themselves and their scam appear legitimate.

We will be ready to help in delivering your winnings to you with your honest and sincere co-operation with our offices, that is if i am in contact with the true lotto winner. If i am, please feel free to contact any of our agents via the emails contained below for more information and claim procedure:

FOR ASIA & AFRICA: itkagimoto@yahoo.com
FOR UK & EUROPE: jamesthomaswalter@gmail.com
FOR THE USA & THE AMERICAS: mrdavid_parker@yahoo.com

Thank you for your anticipated co-operation.

Sincerely,
Mr Marlon Woods
