"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: A NEW BILL PASSED/PLEASE ASSIST

PLEASE REPLY TO:danbilly8@ny.com

Dear Sir,

With reference to the above subject, I wish to divulge this
information
and trusting that you will keep it confidential. I am
pleased to
introduce to you a transaction that will be of mutual
benefit to both you and
myself. I got your email contact while
searching through one of your country's directory for a
reputable and
capable foreigner to stand as a partner and assist me get
this project
realized. Something struck and attracted me to you. After
proper
consideration, I decided to write you with believe that you
will be a trust worthy and capable person to assist.

In brief introduction, my names are Dr. Daniel Jerry Billy
I am the
director of resource control Unit of the NIGERIAN NATIONAL
PETROLEUM
CORPORATION (NNPC) My unit takes charge in the control,
distribution and
management of the nations oil products. And also a memeber
of the board that awards NNPC Contracts.

The preposition:

Recently, the senate committee on contract, awards/payment,
passed a
bill into the federal house of assembly. The bill was
endorse by the
President Chief Olusegun A. Obasanjo G.C.F.R. The bill is
for allocation of
funds dept verification and cancelation
which is assisted by the International Monetary fund (IMF)
world bank.
this exercise will also cover the immediate approval and
payment to all
contractors being owed by the federal government. This is
also to pave
way for new contracts to be awarded. The
new development is the long opportunity myself and two of
my colleague
in this agency have been waiting for nearly two years now
to get rid of
a particular fund that has been lying dormant under our
wacthful eyes,
so as to better our lives and
that of our families.

in 1997 a foreigner ENGR. Jurgen Mertz based in Tunisia was
awarded a
contract of US$255,000,000 by the NNPC to supply equipment
for the
repairs of some pipelines in the Niger Delta region of the
country, which
he fully executed and completed but was still been owed an
oustanding
balance of US$32.500,000.

In the year 2002 ENGR. Jurgen F. Mertz was reported to be
invovlve in
an Egypt plane crash while returning from a business trip
to his country
base in Tunisia. The plane was said to crashed near the
tunis boarder.
Unfortunately ENGR Jurgen F. Mertz. was
among the 20 that died in the crash. He died as a result of
the shock:
News on the plane crash can still be seenon BBC world news:
<http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/1973452.stm>
Immediately we recieve the news of the death of our
contractor we
immediately decided to reach his family memebers but
unfortunately all
effort to locate any of his relatives proofed abortive. We
then decided
to reach his next of kin through the information contained
in the
contract that was awarded to him, but unfortunately untill
his death he left
no name in the next of kin column of th
e documents file covering the contract and payment. Records
of All the
documents covering the said contract and subsequent
payments he
received is in our record department headed by one of my
colleague who is also
involve in this transaction.

It is in respect of the above information that we decided
to seek your
endulgence for assistance to stand as the next of kin to
the late ENGR.
Jurgen F. Mertz now that the need has arise, for the
balance of
US$32.5M to be approved for payment to him. Since the said
contract was
awarded and executed by a foreigner we need you a foreigner
also to stand and
have the funds approved in your name and
the payment effected in your favour.

Note this transaction and its proceedures in 100% legal and
risk free.
Further information and modalities of sharing the funds
will be
discussed upon my receipt of your favourable response.
Please, I want you to
give this transaction the confidentiality it deserve.
Lastly, upon your
response include your private telephone a
nd fax for oral communication. You can reach me
alternatively on:
