"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear friend,

My proposal to you will be very surprising, as we have not had any Personal
contact before. However, I sincerely seek your confidence in this
transaction, which I propose to you as a person of transparency,honesty and
high caliber.

Let me first start by introducing myself properly to you. My name is Mr
Raymond Boye, i am a senior aide to the Liberian former Minister of
Lands,Mines,and energy MR JENKINS DUNBAR,i am presently seeking political
asylum in South Africa. I got your email address from network directory,i
apologize if I have infringed on your privacy. It may interest you to know
that my former boss fought a serious civil war alone side with the former
president of Liberia former President Charles Taylor with the Liberia United
for the Restoration of Democracy (LURDS) for quite some years. The LURDS has
been backed (all along) by some foreign powerful countries.

Not quite long ago, the American government ordered President Charles Taylor
to leave Liberia or be forced out of power. Knowing fully well the
capabilities of America and other powerful members of the United
Nations,President Charles Taylor decided on the 11th of August 2003 to go
into exile in a neighboring country Nigeria to seek asylum. He is presently
in a town called calabar in Nigeria. A new government headed by Vice
President Mr Moses Blah has been sworn in.Before then my boss MR JENKINS
DUNBAR including the president and their spouse has been given United Nation
travel ban contained in paragraph seven(7)of the security council
resolution.

Based on these developments, their various foreign bank accounts are already
being investigated. Early this year their accounts in Switzerland was frozen
in March 2004 which was also announce in CNN News. In the light of all these
sad happenings, MR JENKINS DUNBAR through the help of his loyalists has
secretly moved a sum of US$15.5M (FIFTEEN MILLION,FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND
UNITED STATES DOLLARS]to a private security company vault in Europe and
right now,he has ask me to look for the services of a reliable foreigner
that will receive the funds into his/her bank account for the future
survival of his family because he cannot presently operate any foreign bank
account on his name. These funds (US$15.5) arose from various compensation
he received from the sales of rubber, timber and mining diamonds which are
abound in great quantity around the coastal areas of the country.

We have decided that if you are able to assist us, you shall be compensated with
15% commission of the funds, 5% of this money shall be set aside to take
care of any local or foreign expenses that might be incurred along the
line. We will make do with the remaining 75% of the funds. It might also
interest you to note that all security arrangements regarding this
transaction has been put in place, therefore,you have nothing whatsoever to
fear or worry about.

Most part of our(75%)will also be invested in your country courtesy of your
full advice and assistance because that is the most important part of this
transaction. As you indicate interest to assist us, please kindly send to us
your telephone/fax numbers for further discussion and clarification.I will
be expecting to receive your urgent response for us to proceed to more
details on this pending transaction.
