"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

REQUEST FOR AN URGENT ASSISTANCE

Attn: PRESIDENT/ CEO

I know you will be surprised to receive this letter.
First I must introduce myself. I am MR.JOEFFRY NKHUME from Democratic Republic of Congo (central Africa) and former personal assistant on defense matters to the late President, Laurent Kabila.I got your contact through the South Africa Information Exchange(S.A.I.E.). Regarding your trustworthiness and as such I decided to ask for your assistance to transfer some money out of South Africa into your personal or company’s account.

The late President, Laurent Kabila successfully
toppled the President of my country from the late
Mobutu Sese Seko and ruled peacefully for a few
months. However, barely some months the Tutsis from
Goma, the northern part of the country rebelled
against the government. Ever since then, my country
has been at war. Due to this war, public funds and
properties have been looted and stolen by soldiers and government functionaries. We were very dedicated and committed to winning the war against the rebels and in view of our committed efforts towards winning the war.
I was sent to South Africa by the late President with the Sum of US$23.5M (Twenty Three Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) for the purchase of arms and ammunition in view of our next plan of action to be mounted against the rebels but while in South Africa making arrangements for the purchase of the arms and ammunitions. I received the shocking news of this death.

Based on the news of this death, I quickly made
arrangements, with a private Security Company here in South Africa where this money is now deposited with a Security and Finance Company as Gemstones as the actual content was not disclosed. I am presently
seeking Asylum here in South Africa, as I know that my country is not going to be peace in the nearest
possible time and as such, I have decided to use this whole money to start up an entirely new life, as going back to my country will mean trouble on me. However, the monetary policies of the Republic of South Africa does not allow Asylum seekers certain financial rights hence my asking you to assist me to transfer this money outside South Africa specifically for investment purpose.

For your efforts, I am prepared to offer you 25% of
the total sum, 5% for settlement for all
international expenses incurred in the course of this transaction and the balance of 70% becomes my own. From the above, you may well understand that my entire life or future depends on this money and as such I shall be very grateful if you can assist me.

Please note that this transaction is 100% risk free
and the major thing I demand from you is complete
assistance and to keep this business highly
confidential so that the money will be safe when
transferred into your account. Please contact me on
the above telephone if you indicate interest.

Looking forward to your urgent reply.

Best regards,
MR JOEFFRY NKHUME.
