"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Urgent asistant needed

MY DEAR FRIEND,

Hoping that this message meets you in a good condition of health today. I got your email contact from a book containing the email address of some world known Educationist, and seeing that you are a well educated Somebody, I decide to contact. I am STEVE KABILA, a Congolese citizen who is presently residing at No. 233 Trevor Street, off Rose bank Estate, Midland 2060, Johannesburg - South Africa. I was formally the Financial assistance to the Late formal President Kabila who was assassinated on January 2001.

I am writing to solicit your sincere co-operation in order to redeem an investment interest, which I am currently planning to undertake with Avery good and God-fearing person who will not in any way betray my trust and confidence. During my (17 years) of service in the office of the military in Congo (DRC), I was able to inherit some amount of money from my Late President Kabila because I was very close to him.

Actually on the 14th of January 2000, the Late President Kabila gave me this amount US$15,000,000.00(Fifyteen Million United States Dollars) to deposit for him on my name in a Private Security Company in South Africa, while I was on the mission in South Africa, I got the sad news that the President was assassinated, and because of fear and tension, I was forced to stay in South Africa.

I then invite my wife and two kids to stay with me in South Africa where we are now seeking political asylum. After waiting for two years, I decide to transfer the consignment (Fund) from the Private Security Company in South Africa where it was deposited, to Europe for investment since I am presently doing nothing in South Africa.

I made an arrangement with one of my friend in London, and he made a contact with a Security Company in Europe, and on the 20th of January 2003, the consignment was successfully moved from South Africa to the Security Company in Europe. My arrangement with my London friend was that he would travel down to the security company in Europe, to claim the consignment.

Unfortunately for my friend, the unexpected happened, my friend died on a very crucial motor accident on the 22nd January 2003, two days before his travelling to the Security Company to claim the Consignment. I waited for my friend to contact me about his arrival in the security company, but to receive a call from his wife on the 23rd January 2003, that his husband is dead. Unfortunately for me, I cannot claim the consignment alone since I do not have enough money to settle the bill that the Security Company in Europe demand from us before claiming this consignment from them. Before my London friend's death, he arranged to settle the security company their bill when he get there for the claiming of the consignment.

The Security Company has been calling me every day to come over to pay them and claim my consignment since they are no longer hearing from my Partner in London. On the 11th of February I informed the Security Company about the death of my friend, and I told them also that I am waiting for my other partner to come with me to their firm to claim the consignment. So immediately I got your email contact I decide to write you for this assistance, with the intention that we could work hand in hand to claim this consignment together in the security company in Europe, and transfer the fund into your account so that we can use the fund for investment in your country.

Right now, the consignment is there with the security company in Europe, and I am ready to give you the country name, contact address, phone and fax number of this security company so that you can confirm from them about this issue. I can also send to you by fax the copies of the original documents, which I used to send the consignment to Europe, so that you will see and check the documents for references.

Please I want to assure you that this transaction is very genuine and risk free. One thing you should be noted is that the security company in Europe do not know that this consignment they are holding contains money because we transported the consignment as African Artwork meant for my European friend.

I am ready to compensate you with the sum of US$ 3 Million, which is 20% of the total sum, and immediately we claim the fund and transfer the whole money into your account or your company account, I will also refund back to you the money you spend during the course of this transaction. I hope to hear from you immediately so that I will know how we can meet in Europe or make propel arrangement for the follow up of this transaction.

When replying, you should send me your phone and fax numbers, Please kindly indicate your interest as soon as receive this message so that we can act immediately since times are no longer on my side at this moment. I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regard's,

Steve kabila,

For the family.
