"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: AN INVESTMENT PROPOSAL

AN INVESTMENT PROPOSAL

Att: The President/CEO

Dear Sir,

I am MR. DUNN MORRIS, an auditor attached with the NEDBANK OF SOUTH AFRICA
and I found your address from your embassy in South Africa in my search for
a reliable individual/company who can assist us. I have the honor to
introduce a business proposal to you, which will be beneficial to both of us

During an Audit conducted by the internal Auditors, I discovered an account
that was opened in the year 1988. The last deposit made into this account
was in 2000 and since then, no deposit or withdrawal was made again.

After a through investigation, I discovered that the owner of the account
was among the people who died in the mining stamp pit, for he was working in
the Kruger Gold Company as a Geologist/Engineer. He was a foreigner and his
name was ENGINEER JEAN CLAUDE PIERRE. Until his death, he banked with Ned
Bank of South Africa, Johannesburg and had a closing balance as at the end
of June 2000 worth US$24,000,000.00 (Twenty Four Million United State
Dollars), (this is aside the accrued interest so far from that date) the
bank now expects his Next of Kin as beneficiary.

Valuable efforts have been made by the Bank to get in touch with any of the
Claude's Family or Relatives but to no success. It is due to the perceived
possibility of not being able to locate any of Late Eng. Jean Claude
Pierre’s NEXT of KIN (He had no wife and no children that is known to us).
The Management under the influence of our Chairman and Members of the Board
of Directors, arrangement has been made for the fund to be declared
"UNCLAIMED" and subsequently be donated to the TRUST FUNDS for arms and
ammunition to further enhance the course of wars in Africa and the World in
General.

In order to avert this negative development, some of my trusted colleagues
and I now seek your permission to have you stand as Next of Kin to the late
Eng. Jean Claude Pierre so that the fund will be released and paid into your
Account as the beneficiary/next of kin. All documents and proves to enable
you get this fund will be carefully worked out. All information concerning
him and the account will be supplied to you. We have secured from the
Probate Registry, an order of Mandamus to locate any of the deceased's
beneficiary(ies), So we are assuring you that this business is 100% Risk
Free and a genuine business.

At the conclusion of this business, you will be given 25% of the total
amount, 70% will be for my colleagues and myself, while 5% will be for
expenses both parties might have incurred during the process of
transferring.

However, It might interest you to know that you can claim the fund in our
bank's main branch here in Johannesburg, South Africa or in our
corresponding bank in Madrid, Spain. Should you be interested in claiming
the money from our correspondent bank in Spain, we have a colleague in that
bank, who will offer you assistance in Spain and who will be willing to talk
with you on phone as soon as possible

We shall arrange to change the name of beneficiary in your favour with our
bank and also the Probate Registry of the Government of South Africa.
Kindly indicate your interest to enable us make arrangements to get the
necessary supporting and back up documents that will make you eligible to
claim the funds as his Next of Kin.

Would you wish to assist, reply on E-mail: ps@executivemail.co.za Fax: +27
727 918 528 or call me on Tel: +27 733 665 015 for details. In case you
cannot assist, please maintain the high level of confidentiality needed in
this transaction. Kindly send your private telephone and fax numbers

Accept my warm regards as I await your response.
Sincerely, URGENT

Mr. DUNN MORRIS
