"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Head of Operations

ATTN : President/Ceo


I am Dr. Giaus Obaseki of Nigerian National Petroleum
Cooperation, NNPC. I seek to write your response on an
expatriate business opportunity in Nigeria of {$50,000,000},
we want to transfer into a reliable/safe account outside
Nigeria which I and my colleagues has been able to negotiate
out for ourselves.
These money accrued as a result of fund allocation
given as compensation inrespect to the damages in the
Niger Delta region, which was caused by Foreign
expatriate working in the communities that was
affected.
You are immediately required to forward to us via
e-mail the following:
. Your receiving account informations
. Contact address, Private telephone and Fax numbers
. A copy of your international Passport
All other contract details/documents relating to the
project shall be given to you on response to avoid delay of the transaction.
Once you provide the above information and pledge your
sincerity to champion the transaction, we are willing
to give to you 30% of the total sum while 10% has been
set aside for all expenses incured by both parties.
