"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

Following my search for a reliable and modest individual that will assist me front as beneficiary of funds due my late husband's company (JMM CONSTRUCTION LTD) to the tune of US$15,000,000.00, I am contacting you to solicit your partnership.

My name is Ruth Maoela,a certified nurse by profession. I am currently HIV/AIDS co-coordinator with the Bethesda Aids Action team. I became a widow in the year 1996 after the sudden death of my late husband Mr.James Masakela Maoela. I am a mother of 3 and I currently care for orphans over 1,130.

After my husband's death I have recently noticed that his company that he has sole ownership (JMM CONSTRUCTION LTD) is due for payment over a construction contract executed in 1995. The contract funds being an over-invoiced contract which my husband's company executed with the Department of
Environmental Affairs and Tourism South Africa (My husband as at 1995 in company of the also now LATE Contract Award Director, over invoiced the contract amount (The Construction of 2,500 Low Cost Housing Units) from the original amount of US$10,000,000.00 to US$15,000,000.00.

It is certain that the government of South Africa will start to investigate on contracts awarded from 1990 to date and If this money is discovered yet unclaimed, the government will confiscate the money and as my husband is late my good name will be affected negatively and what legacy am I going to leave for my children and the suffering aids victims and the less privileged one's if my name is soiled as a result of not claiming the funds in time.

Because of my busy schedule and heavy commitments to humanity, I request with due respect your assistance to front as foreign director and beneficiary of the entitlement due my late
husband's company (JMM CONSTRUCTION LTD) to claim the funds US$15,000,000.00 (FIFTEEN MILLION UNITED STATES DOLLARS).

The process of claiming the funds have been perfected already as I will be using a contact at the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism where the contract was awarded to facilitate payment approval of the funds in your favour.

Be rest assured that I have a perfect plan and having gone through the modalities over and over again, be sure the business is 100% risk free but will require your transparency
for us to be successful.

I will send you more personal details of myself and also inform you of the commission that you will receive for assisting my family in this business upon receiving your positive response to my proposal.

By assisting my family, your benevolence stretches across lending a helping hand to the less privilege, orphans and the sick as most of the funds coming to my family will be use for charity.

NOTE: I am reposing trust on you even as a total stranger.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Ruth Maoela.
