"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY

Dear Friend,

Having obtained your contact from my internet search I deemed it
necessary to contact you on this very impotant transtion that deserve your

trust. Coupled with my deep interest to invest in your country, I decided

to contact and solicit your mutual assistance on this golden
opportunity. I must apologies for taking some of your valuable time to explain
a
proposal that I imagine will
be of utmost benefit.

My name is Mr John Dasuki a Custom Officer(Deputy Controller) attached

to the Apapa Wharf in Lagos-Nigeria, and presently in a dillema about
what to do on a large Consignment we intercepted at the harbour about
two Months ago. If I was told this, I would never have believed even
considering the wide spread of scams and frauds rocking Africa and other

Countries alike. After the inspection of the seizure we discovered it
contained a large amount
of money believed to have diverted from the Government coffers by
Politicians, totalling 8.5 Million USD and was on it's way to the Overseas

for their cronies. The beneficiary was a Brazilian businessman who have

since denied the Consignment.

This consignment unbelievably was declared by these faceless people as

artifacts. We have started thinking of taking over the seizure as we
feel there will not be any reward after all and will only end up in
another mans pocket as these have always been the case in this
Country. We have placed the consificated Fund in an account with one of

our commercial Bank, awaiting for an offshore account where it will be
moved to. What I want from you is a safe offshore account where we can
effectively transfer this money to and conveniently
reclaim it after wards. We shall make provisions for any
inconveniences we may cause you. Honestly such situations have been
occurring but I have never witnessed any and I have always dismissed them

as scams until now that I have witnessed it myself.
I and my colleagues are working round the clock to effect a hitch free
transaction by God's grace. I have a personal telephone line that you
can reach me, I've never seen anything like these before. Please give me

your views for security reasons. I have to hold on to other vital

information for now.
I want to know where you are now, your age and occupation because i
don't want to deal with a minor but a matured person who can hold Fund on

trust for my after the claim and direct us on how we can make a
profitable investment anywhere in the world without exposing
anything about the transaction.
Kindly confirm your interest through my email address;
johndasuki@bankersmail.com OR chambers@bankersmail.com

Best Regards,
Mr John Dasuki.
