"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

FROM THE DESK OF MR VINCENT MICADO
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR,BILL & EXCHANGE
FOREIGN REMITTANCE DEPARTMENT
AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL BANK (A.I.B)
OUAGADOUGOU, BURKINA-FASO.

Sir,

My name is Mr Vincent Micado. I am the Executive Director in charge of bills
and exchange in the Foreign Remittance Department in our bank, I am writing
to seek your cooperation over a business deal in my department. I discovered
an Unclaimed fund of Eight Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars (US$8.5Million)
belonging to one of our foreign customers who was among other passangers
that died in a plane crash in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in November 2001.

He died alongside with his wife and his only two children in the plane crash.
After we got news of his death we have been expecting his Next of Kin or
relation to come over and claim his money in our bank because we cannot
release it to anybody unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation
to the deceased as indicated in our banking Code of Rules but unfortunately
his only authorised legitimate next of kin happened to be his only son who
also died in the plane crash.

Now this money has remained unclaimed for almost three years now. It is
upon this discovery that I now decided to solicit for your assistance and
cooperation for the immediate claim and transfer of the fund to your account
as the supposed next of kin or relation of the deceased for our own use
and benefit. This offer is very urgent because i don't want the fund to
be moved into our Bank Treasury as an unclaimed fund.

The Banking law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained
unclaimed after three years the money should be transferred into the Bank
treasury as unclaimed fund. My request for your assistance to act as the
Next of Kin or relation of the deceased is occasioned by the fact that the
late original owner of the fund was a foreigner and it is absolutely impossible
for a citizen of BURKINA-FASO to claim the money as Next of Kin or relation
to the late Foreigner(owner of the fund).

This is the reason why I need a foreigner like you for assistance to claim
the money and divert it to your account. I have agreed that 30% of this
money shall be your reward while 70% is for me, 10% shall be set aside to
compensate ourselves for all the expenses that might be incurred in the
process of transferring the money to your account.

I would require you to make arrangement for me to come over to your country
for the sharing of the money after the money is transferred to your account
according to the percentage stated here. Meanwhile, I will not fail to bring
to your notice that this transaction is absolutely Risk-free but strictly
confidential between you and me only.I will use my executive position and
powers in office to make this transaction a huge success. Nevertheless,i
would need an assurance from you that you will not cheat me or sit on my
share of the money if the money finally comes into your account.

Please contact me immediately by email upon your acceptance to work with
me to achieve this goal. I am looking forward to receive your earliest positive
response. Thanks.

NOTE: PLEASE, YOU CAN STILL REPLY ME VIA MY ALTERNATIVE EMAIL ADDRESS: vmicado@excite.com

Yours Sincerely,
Vincent Micado.
