"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Dear Sir,

First, I must solicit your confidence in this transcation, this is by virtue
of its nature as being utterly confidential and top secret, though Iknow
that a transaction of this magnitude will make anyone apprehensive and worried,
but I am assuring you that all will be well at the end of the day.

I have decided to contact you because of the urgency of this
transction. Let me start by first introducing myself properly to you. I
am Muyiwa Ige the son of late Chief Bola Ige the Minsiter for Justice and
the Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who was assasinated
on the 23rd December 2001 by unknown gunmen on political grounds.I came
to know of you in a private search for a reliable and reputable person to
handle a very confidential transaction, which involves the moving of huge
sum of money (Family inherittnce) to you requiring maximum confidence.

The death of my father has made every family member to be in perpetual
fear, for there is no security of life again in Nigeria since a whole
Minister ofJustice and Attorney of the Federation can be killed . The CNN
and BBC fast
track reports will explain more to you. Before my father's appointment
as the Minister of Justice of the Federation he was the Minister of Power
and Steel. During his tenure, as the Minster of Power and Steel, he awarded
a contract to the tune of $108.5M for the supply of Electric Transformers
to 36 Rural Communities in Osun State. After the completion and commissioning
of the contract, the contractor, out of his free will, gave him the sum
of $15M as gratification. As a civil servant, obeying the code of conduct
for civil servants in Nigeria he deposited this money in a Security Company
as Photographic Materials/Family Valuable, to secure himself and his office
from the eyebrows of government security operatives. Meanwhile, the
code of conduct for civil servants in Nigeria disallows every civil servant
both Federal, State and Local to operate Foreign Account. All their local
accounts here are secrutnized by the civil service commission (CSC) to check
govenrmental fraudulent activites and looting. My late father Chief Bola
Ige, deposited this $15M in a Security Company in GHANA. The Deposit Certificate
is with me now as the first son of the family.

This money, I would like you travel to GHANA to secure the release of
this consignment, pending my arrival in your country. Also at has been
agreed that one of our family members will travel to meet with you in GHANA.
This measure has been taken to avoid traces of any kind on the side of my
late father. Every member of the family has decided to live the rest of
their life outside Nigeria for security reasons. After the smooth conclusion
to this transaction, you will keep 15% of the total sum for your role, 5%
will be for taxation to reimburse you of any expenses, including your phone
bills or trval expenses and 80% will be preserved for the family for the
Joint Investment of mutual benefit which we will embark on. If this propsoal
is accepted by you and you wish to take advantage of the trust I have bestowed
on you and your Company, kindly get to me immediately furnishing me with
your most confidential Telephone and Fax numbers for easy communication.

Once I get them from you, I will send to you the photocopy of the
deposit certificate issued to my father by the Security Company and furnish
you more of the way forward regards to this transaction. Please note that
your positve or negative response will be more appreciated to enable me
and the entire family know the way forward. Expecting a quick response from
you,you can aswell contact me through my alternative email:muyiwaige1@wappi.com
thanks

My best regards.

Muyiwa Ige
