"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: Assalam Aleikum, Great Financial Reward for You.

Assalam Aleikum,

I am sincerely sorry for contacting you in this manner, this is the only way available to me in my current disabled situation, I am personally contacting you in my search for a reliable and God fearing person and having gotten your contact during my internet search, I have decided to seek your help in carrying out my last wish, I am currently using the Internet services of the American Makeshift Hospital located in the southern part of Baghdad, Iraq where I have been hospitalised for the past eight months .

My name is Mrs Jutail Farsi Mitwalli, a kurdish national but married to an Iraqi and living in Iraq. Until recently my late husband had investments in oil and construction in Baghdad. Since the war started in my Country my life has been thrown into severe mystery and confusion. I lost my husband and two children to bombs dropped in the city. Today, I'm in a makeshift hospital with very fatal injuries and I have lost my ability to talk.

My Doctors have indicated that my chances of survival are very slim. I have therefore decided that my family fortunes should be distributed to charity works to help victims of the war and the rest part as benefits for whoever helps in this charity works.

Before this calamity befell us our concern for making money was all we lived for. We never really cared about other values in life. But since the loss of my family, I have found a new desire to assist helpless families and victims of humanitarian crisis. Shortly after the first gulf war my late husband deposited the sum of USD$12 million (Twelve Million United States Dollars) with a financial Institution in Europe, given the complete ruin and disorder in my country (Iraq) I have no knowledge of any living relative who would be available to help me carry out this last wish given the destruction and crippling social unorganised situation here in Iraq.

Please, I am seeking your consent to help me collect the deposit (US$12M) from the financial Institution in Europe and distributes it accordingly. You will use your judgement to distribute the money and feel free to reimburse yourself when you have the money for any expenses you might incur during the process of collecting and distributing the money. If you are willing to help, please reply as soon as you can so we can look at your reward and the things you need to do to collect the money. You should reply to my private mail box ( alljutail@yahoo.it <mailto:alljutail@yahoo.it> ). As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you more details and supporting documents.

May Allah bless you and your family.

Alhamdulillah, Wassalam,

Mrs Jutail Farsi Mitwalli
