"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Do Get Back To Me

Dear Friend,

This letter might come to you as a surprise since we have not met before, but I take you to be an honest person who can assist me in actualizing this transaction.

My name is Michael J. Monfort, Chief Security Aid to immediate Ousted Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide who is presently seeking asylum in South Africa.

I have in my custody the sum of US$14.5m (Fourteen Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars), which I intend to use for overseas investment. President Jean-Bertrand Aristide himself made this fund available to me [chief security aid] as the last security vote prior his exit from power while still in Haiti, in other to guide against serious rising might of the opposition then.

I was able to foresee the looming danger ahead due to enormous pressure on President Jean-Bertrand Aristide from the United Nations (UN) and in particular United States to go on exile, which truly is the only means to install peace and sanity in Haiti.

As at the time I received this last Security vote (US$14.5m), I knew that ousted Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide will be forced out of Haiti before anything so I acted wisely, instead of going for the ammunitions; I diverted the funds to a foreign security company for my own personal use.

These funds was already carefully packed in one diplomatic trunk box which made it easier for deposit without the companies knowledge of the exact content, It was deposited as Gem Stones and was tagged consignment.

Due to my position here with President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, I cannot travel out for now else I will arouse suspiciousness, this is where I now beg for your assistance in claiming, receiving and preserving this consignment with Funds on my behalf. I will send you documents which will serve, then lodge the funds into your safe account while I and my family make a last leap to your Country for investment with your wise advice.

I assure you there is no risk involved, every aspect of this transaction is safe but please note that neither President Jean-Bertrand Aristide nor any other person is aware of this deal, it is absolutely confidential.

I beg for your Understanding, as I expect your urgent still candid response.

My Best Regards,
Michael Jean Monfort
