"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Plea from a widow of a Tsunami victim whose life is threatened.

Dear beloved,

Please kindly forgive me if this mail offends you but I write this mail out of dire need and desperateness, hoping that you will understand my sitaution and thus render assistance.

I am Mrs. Elizabeth Henshaw, a widow to Late Pastor Albert A. Henshaw. My husband was the founder of Soul Winners Christain Ministry, Cotonue, Benin Republic, which was founded on April 12 1992. On the 28th of December 2004, my husband's untimely death came from effects of Tsunami sea/ earthquake while on a christain crusade held in Somalia.

Ever since the news of my husband's death reached us at the church, the elders of the church and immediate family members of my late husband had threatened to do away with me if I do not release the account held in the Church's name of which my husband was the sole signatory to this account valued at US$ 7,280,000.00. I have also sued for necessary legal actions but this is not helping matters as the court is delaying judgement on this matter and I have been notified that some powerful members of the church had gone ahead to bribe the presiding judge in order to get judgement in their favor.

My humble request therefore is that you assist me to repatriate this fund outside the shores of this country where it will be used sorely for propagation of the good news, rendering assistance to the less previlaged children in the society and setting up of a church.
For your assistance I shall give you 30% of this fund, while the rest shall be for the purpose of which I intend.

I have presently gone under ground for fear of physical attack, however, my husband's late attorney has been of great assistance and he has also made all arrangement and set all machinery in motion for a smooth transfer of this fund in your favor upon your response.

I will advice you reach the attorney, Barrister ROBERT WILLIAMS via email rob_williams04@myway.com, furnishing him with your full name, contact details and telepone and fax numbers to enable him secure legal documents enhancing change of rights to fund in your favor. I further want to assure you that this transaction is 100% risk free and will be carried out within the ambits of law.

Your prompt mail is awaited indicating your position as I do not have time at my disposal to complete this transaction.

Sincerely yours,
Mrs. Elizabeth Henshaw.
