"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir/Madam

I am Mrs. Esther Buch, wife to late Engr. Hillary Alan Buch who died offshores
during a clash between the Shell petroleum Development Company(SPDC) and
the Niger Delta community because of their incesant plight of not being
compensated for the oil exploration activities in their community by the
NIGER DELTA DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION.

My husband used to work as a top engineer in Shell Petroleum Development
Company(SPDC) in Durban, South Africa before his death.

After the death of my husband two years ago, I immediately moved all of
our finances to a security and finance company in europe for safe keeping.
I have been sick all these while due to the shock generated by my husband's
death hoping to get better as the day goes by but to no avail.
I am presently in Dubai, UAE undergoing treatment. The problem now is that
my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next three months due to
developed cancer problem. Though what disturbs me most is my stroke.

I have decided to invest these funds in your country, for the future of
my four kids. I have to deal with you on total trust and confidentiality
as this is the only hope for my children and no other person knows about
this fund.

The Amount is $8.6million USD. All we need you to do is for you to transfer
this money into your nominated bank account in your country then I will
arrive with my four kids to meet with you for investment purposes through
your advice.

The most important for now is to help me in transfering this money into
your nominated bank account as I am handicapped to travel to Europe now.

Be informed that 10% of the total money will be your share for your assistance
in executing my dream.

Get back to me if you are satisfied with my proposal.

yours sincerely,
Mrs. Esther Buch
