"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: From Mr.Edris Kamal.

Dear Sir,

I am writing you this urgent mail to ask for your quick assistance for me and the youngest wife of the late Mr Eyadema in Togo.

I got your contact from the youngest wife who took away the late husband's briefcase immediately after the death was announced.

I am barrister Edris Kamal, the private adviser to the late president and i have the permission of the youngest wife Mrs Claudine Gnassingbe to ask for your sincere partnership in a deal involving 28.0 million $US lodged with the Eurolink Airfreight Vaults in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The late president was a close friend of the people of Ivory Coast.

Sir, we request for your confidentiality and sincerity because the eldest son of the late president has taken power by force unconstitutionally and there shall be political crisis here soon.

I have personally moved the youngest wife to Abidjan to a secure residence and all we need now is your immediate response to this transaction. You shall be entitled to 28% of the total amount due to your direct participation, 5% also shall be to cover all your expenses during and after the transaction.

You shall be required to stand as the beneficiary of the consignment and i shall be your lawyer here to arrange the diplomatic airfreight to your destinated country. This transaction is very confidential please.

I shall be honoured to receive the acceptance mail from you asap. I shall be in London this week to arrange for the other matters concerning the family as the late Eyadema who ruled Togo for 38 years has a lot of investments in London under my supervision in the name of the youngest wife Claudine.

You can reach me by mail edris4um3@yahoo.com
or at my direct roaming number, 0022506025868. I wait for your response.

Yours most sincerely,

Barrister Edris KAMAL.
