"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

THIS LETTER IS NOT INTENDED TO CAUSE ANY EMBARRASSMENT IN WHATEVER FORM,RATHER I WAS COMPELLED BY CIRCUMSTANCE TO CONTACT YOUR ESTEEMED SELF TO BORNE US OUT OF THIS DIFFICULT SITUATION THAT MY FAMILY HAS BEEN ENGULFED IN SINCE MY HUSBAND WAS KILLED.

BEFORE HIS DEATH, MY HUSBAND HAD DEPOSITED WITH ONE OF THE SECURITY COMPANY IN JOHANNESBURG,SOUTH AFRICA THE SUM OF US$9.5 MILLION [NINE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS]. AFTER HIS DEATH ,I AND MY THREE CHILDREN DECIDED TO MOVE TO THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA WHERE HE DEPOSITED THE MONEY IN THE SECURITY COMPANY AS AFRICAN ARTS MATERIALS,AND WAS DISAPPOINTED AS WE REALIZED THAT IT IS AGAINST SECTION 22 OF THE REFUGEES ACT NO 130 OF 1998 OF THE HUMAN RIGHT LAW OF SOUTH AFRICA, THAT ASYLUM SEEKERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO OPERATE ANY BANK ACCOUNT OR TO OWN AN ENTER-PRISE WITHIN SOUTH AFRICA.
