"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Dear wim

My name is MR. BERNARD COOPER a native of Ghana, Africa currently residing
in the Netherlands for a Senior Management course, at the Hogeschool, University
of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
I am requesting your assistance in order to redeem an investment made with
the West African Mining Corporation in which I am a senior executive. The
said investment now valued TWELVE MILLION, U.S. DOLLARS (U.S.$12. 000,000.00)
was purchased by MR. ALEXANDER WIM and contracted out to the West African
Mining Corporation in September 1977. This redeemable investment interesthas
now matured and been cleared for disbursement since March of 2003.
Since then there has been an extensive global wide attempt to locate and
notify any living relatives of ALEXANDER WIM being that he himself died
in December of 1987. We have confirmed through three independent search
agencies that there are no living relatives in whose favor the investmentcan
be paid.
Being that two senior colleagues and I are working as staffs in the accounts
department of the Mining Corporation and West African Reserve Bank, we have
access to all ALEXANDER WIM informations , we can claim this money withyou.
All we need to do is file this claim proclaiming you are the only surviving
next of kin and actual beneficiary because of your name match with the
late Investor.
These funds can be paid into any designated account which you provide and
can be a new bank account specially for this purpose. My proposal to you
is that for your assistance you will withhold 30% of the total sum, while
ensuring that my partners and I receive the remaining 70%.Please you can
contact me through this Email address bencopp_2003@tiscali.it and let me
know if this proposal is acceptable to you.

Thank you and God Bless.
MR BERNARD COOPER
