"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attn: The president,
Dear Sir,
Please I am Mr. Biossey Baukre, a special assistanct to the defunct president of Togo, President Gnassingbe Eyadema who passed away on 6th February 2005. I got your contact through the Ecowas Information Center here in Togo.
I am writing you in absolute confidence primarily to seek your assistance on a deposit(treasure) which I deposited with a firm in Europe on behalf of his Excellency Gnassingbe Eyadema. As a result of the present fears suurounding the take over of Mr. Faure Gnassingbe aided by the military instead of the constitutially favoured Parliamentary Speaker Mr. Fambare Natchaba Ouattera, I want to seek for a better life for my family outside my country thus contacting you.
The deposit contains six million, five hundred thousand United States dollars($6,500,000.00) now in the custody of a Security Company in Europe. To this effect, I humbly solicit for your assistance in re-directing the deposit to your country for safety and for investment under your care. I have solidified every arrangement to prepare legal papers making you the trustee and beneficiary of this deposit for a hitch free withdrawal, if I will get your positive response to this urgent plea.
For your assistance, I beg to concede 15 % of this money to you for your efforts and assistance. Please I look forward to hear from you once you receive this letter and I will appreciate if you can be very open, truthful and sincere to me.

Best Regards,
Biossey Baukre
