"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

May the love and peace of God be with you and your family. I am Barrister
Frederick Williams, a solicitor at law. I am the personal Attorney to Engr.Peter
Jefferson, a National of Chile, who has lived in my country for the pasttwenty
years, and who hereinafter shall be referred to as my client.

In May 4, 2002, an Air Crash involving an Executive Airline Service (EAS)BAC-1-11
Aircraft in Gwammaja Quarters, a densely populated area in Kano State claiming
the lives of about 102 persons both on board and innocent persons around
the Gwammaja Quarters. My client and his family happen to be among the crashedvictims.

I have contacted you to assist in repatriating most especially, the money
left behind by my client before they get confiscated or declared unserviceable
by the bank where this huge deposits were lodged. Particularly, the Citadel
Finance & Securities Group. where the deceased had an account valued at
about USD4,150,000.00 (Four million, one hundred and fifty thousand United
States Dollars only) has issued me a notice to provide the Next of kin,or
have the account confiscated. The request of a foreigner as next of kin
in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner.

I therefore seek your consent to present you as the Next of kin of the deceased
so that the proceeds of this account valued at 4.150 million dollars can
be paid to you, as my client's Next of Kin, so that you and me can share
the amount on a mutual agreed percentage. All legal documents to back up
your claim, as the deceased Next of Kin will be provided. All I require
is your honest cooperation to enable us see this deal through. I guarantee
that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect
you from any breach of the law. Note that it does not necessarily matter,whether
you are biologically related to the deceased or not. As you can bear with
me, a next of kin to one, may be a Parent, Sister, Brother, Close Relative,
Associate, Friend or even a Well-wisher. So, whether you are related to
him or not is never a barrier to your kinship in the transaction.
