"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

ATTN:DEAR,PRINT,READ AND FEED ME BACK IMMIDIETLY
This letter is not intended to cause any embarrassment in whatever
form, rather it is intended to contact your esteemed self, following
the
knowledge of your high repute and trustworthiness. For nature has a way
of arriving unannounced and an adage says '' Originals are very hard to
find but there echo sounds louder'' that is why while I was searching
for a reliable and honest person like you, who can do this business
with
me, from the internet that is how I get in contact with you. So I
decided to contact you myself for you assure me of Safety and honesty
if
I
have to entrust any amount of money under your custody. Compliment of
the day and how is life general with you? Of course it is my humble
wish
to solicit and crave your indulgence to make this project request for a
joint business transaction, which I hope will not come to you as a
surprise, hence I plead for your pardon.

My name is Mr. Usman terry, The auditor general of (CHOGM) Commonwealth Heads
Of Government Meeting, which took place in Nigeria in December 2003. Nigeria
spent a whooping sum of $125 million to host the 56 Commonwealth Heads of
Government Delegation during their four (4) day's meeting in Abuja, Nigeria’s
new capital (www.chogm2003.info ).
Meanwhile I have the privilege to request for your assistance to transfer
the sum of $19m (ninten million United States dollars) into your account.
The above sum resulted from an over-invoiced contract awarded by the CHOGM
committee in 2003. Meanwhile I have been safeguarding this money since then,
waiting for an appropriate time when the money can be transferred into a
foreign account.
Now government has ordered that all debts owed to foreign contractors by
the CHOGM committee should be paid immediately. On the strength of this order,
I wish to present you as the contractor that participated in building the
30 (thirty) guesthouses so that the money will be paid to you then you and
I can share the money thus: 20% will be for you and 80% will be for me. I
have agreed to take care of all the expenses, and This transaction is very
free and safe.
Should you decided to work with me, kindly respond via the above email address,
and send me the following. (1) Your full name and address, (2) Your date,
place and country of birth, (3) Your phone and fax numbers, (4) Your age
and occupation.
As soon as I receive the above information's I will supply you all the details
concerning the transaction. Waiting to hear from you.
Best Regards.
Mr. Usman terry.
