"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

RE: Donation for the less priveledged.

I,Hajia Fatima Machido.I am married to Alhaji Buba Machido from South
Africa,he died on February 2004 at Mecca,Saudi Arabia during the Hajj
pilgrimage. He was one of the victims who died as a result of the stampede
that took place during the stone-throwing ritual.VIEW THIS

When my husband was still alive he disclose to me a security holden Firm
where he deposited the sum of $6.Million(Six Million United State Dollars)in
Nigeria.Presently, this money is still with the Security firm and the
management just wrote me as the beneficiary to come forward to receive the
trunk box of money or rather issue a letter of authorisation to somebody to
receive it on my behalf if I can not come over.

Presently,I'm undergoing treatment for oesophageal cancer. I have since lost
my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few months
to live.It is my last wish to see this money distributed to Less privelaged
and other charity organizations. Because relatives and friends have
plundered so much of our wealth since my illness,I cannot live with the
agony of entrusting this huge responsibility to any of them. Please,I beg you
in the name of God to help me collect the deposit and the interest accrued
from the company and distribute it accordingly.I want a person that is God
fearing that will use this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows
propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is
maintained.

When I became a born again christian God opened my eyes to the book of
Ecclesiastes 6,verses 1 & 2. Read this scripture and you will understand
that there are people in this world that God gave the grace to acquire
wealth yet God did not give them the grace to enjoy the wealth.I happened to
fall into the same category now it is the wish of God.When God revealed to
me to use my wealth to do his work.

I don't want any one know about this development even my husband's
relatives. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply
I shall give you the contact of the Finance/ Security Company in Nigeria.I
will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the new
beneficiary of this fund from the court of law.Any delay in your reply will
give me room in sourcing for another person for this same purpose. Please
assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein.Hoping to hearing
from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
Hajia Fatima Machido
