"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Dear Sir,

I am Mr.Williams Johnson,I am from a Security Coordinator to
One Mr Solomon Howard ,Diamond dealer and his wife, they died in a
ghastly motor accident here in South africa while on a business trip on
the
24th of March 2003.

The said couple has no children and was about 63years old before their death.
He never identified with
anybody as his relative and investigation made could not trace any relative
to the late couple.
Before his death, he has the sum of or more than $25,000,000.00 USD made
from Business with Companies here in Africa and the proceeds are
secured in a vault, with our company, of which I am the Security Coordinator. My
work is to arrange guards. keep relevant documents and information of
our clients.I have supreriors.

Few weeks ago, the Security Company tried requesting that the next
of KIN to the deceased should come up to claim his consignment
deposited with them. After much effort has been made ,to locate any next
of Kin
without success,I decided to contact you as to have you stand in as the

next of KIN to claim the fund, so that my company will not declare the vault

dormant and claim the fund in it,This transcation if you agree will be strictly

between me and you. If you can stand in,I assure you that this is risk free
as I will
advise you on what to do to have this fund to your name,as the next of kin,
and we can agree
on terms of sharing. I will help in getting the aprovals since I am still
working with the Company, You will not be required to come also
in person, since I will take care of that, and move
the funds in your name out of Africa.

This will take us about 10 working days to conclude depending on
how you respond to my correspondence, If you are willing to
stand in as the next of Kin ,send to me with obligation your full
names, telephone and fax numbers through my private email,
as I do not have private telephone number, but it is only our company
has telephone which is for every staff have access to.Please this is to

inform you the transcation must be private, secret and confidential.

Note that we will have to reach an agreement on the sharing of the
fund as you have to agree to give me my own share as
soon as you receive the money. You can contact me

I look forward to hearing from you

Mr.Williams Johnson.
