"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: ATTENTION

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am not supposed to communicate you through this media, which I don't
believe it is the best method to reach someone concerning this issue.
But I have to, because of the urgency of this matter. So please I will
like you pay an attention in going through this mail. My father, who is
the IG (Inspector General of Police in Nigeria) currently having
problem
with the Obasanjo government. For this reason, the president now told
the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) this is a body setup by
the president to trap down any crime. And this body discovered that my
dad have the sum of N1.5Billion (One Billion five hundred Million
Naira), which is US$15million (fifteen Million United State Dollars) in
(Fountain Trust Bank ) local bank in Nigeria.
For this reason, my dad's account here in Nigeria has been frozen and
all our family passport has also been seize by the government.
I am Mr. Bayo Balogun the second son of Tafa Adebayo Balogun; I lost
my elder brother in a plane clash in 2002, so I am now in charge. And as
you are reading this mail my family are in house arrest I am just lucky
that I was not in Abuja (federal capital) before this incident so that
is why I have access to communicate with you. (you can find more

As soon as I hard the news I decided to travel to Ghana to move my
dad's
funds (US$25,300,000) in equatorial Bank to a security company, so that
the Ghanaian government will not send the funds to Nigeria because the
government of Ghana and Nigeria has a very solid relationship.
My family will appreciate if you could assist us in moving this funds
to
your country through this security company and because of the present
situation we are, we don't have cash on us and all that we have now is
the (US$25,300,000) with the security company. We will also want you to
finance this project, that is by moving it to your country and as soon
as this is done, you will be entitle to 15% of the total sum and also
5%
will be for the miscellaneous and this will be in agreement before the
transaction.
I will also want you to know that with all I have explained to you,
this
transaction should be made secrecy between both of us. And I will also
want you to send me a copy of your international passport, your
telephone and fax number, and also your contact address. So that we can
get the agreement prepared.
Finally, I will like to know your position in your office and how
capable are you to handle this transaction.
I await your prompt response

Regards

Bayo T. Balogun.
