"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Long time

My dear friend,
I am Mr.Paul Awuchi,chief Accountant,Tender Board Committee on the award
of contracts in Department of Works and Housing here in Accra- Ghana.I got
your contact on my search for a trusted business partner and I solicit for
your assistance in this confidential business proposal.
THE PROPOSAL
I am seeking for your assistance for transferring into a safe and secured
account in your country the sum of US$30M for settlement and investment.This
money is over-invoiced amount from contracts we awarded to foreign contractors
who have been duly paid on completion of their various contracts.This over-invoice
money is right now floating in the National Treasury in the bank that paid
the foreign contractors.
By virtue of our position as a civil servants,I cannot acquire these funds
in my names or in the names of companies here in Ghana.I am seeking for your
assistance as a reliable internatioal partner abroad into whose account this
money will be transferred.
I hereby request for your sincere cooperation devoid of greed in carrying
out this transaction.I am prepared to split at 70%---30% for you,provided
that mine (70%) will be intact at the end.Hoping to hearing from you for

transaction.
