"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Greetings,
I am highly compelled upon strict recommendation, to write you this very urgent and confidential letter. I do hope my letter will not embarrass you since I had no previous correspondence with you.
I am sending this proposal with due sense of humanity, responsibility and with few awareness that you will give it a sympathetic attention. I regret the inconvenience it may cause you based on the condition that we have not met before.
My name is MRS SARAH RAZAQ TAYLOR, wife of the immediate Liberian past Head of State, MR CHARLSE TAYLOR, who has been currently granted Political Asylum in Nigeria.
You must have heard over the media reports on our political asylum as a result of outright and cheap blackmail that led to loss of Power in Liberia.
I got your contact in my search for a reliable and trustworthy partner, who I can do business with. I would want to have good confidence in you as I have view your profile and found out that you are a good responsible personality.
