"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

ATTENTION.M.D

You may be suprised to receive this letter from me since you don't know me
personally, but for the purpose of introduction, I am FRANK WILLIAM, the son
of MR.JOESEPH WILLIAM, who was currently murdered in the land dispute in
Zimbabwe.I got your contact from the International
Trade Centre ,here in Johannesburg and decided to write to you.My late
father was among the few black Zimbabweans rich farmers murdered in cold
blood by the agents of the ruling Goverment of President Robert
Mugabe for his alleged support and sympathy for the Zimbabwean opposition
party controlled by white minority.

Before his death he had taken me to Johannesburg to deposit the sum of
ELEVEN MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLARS (11.5 MILLION US
DOLLARS)with a security and finance company,as if he knew the looming
danger in Zimbabwe. The money was deposited in a box as a gemstone to avoid
much demurrage from the security company. This money was earmarked for the
purchase of new machinery and chemicals for the farms and the
establishment of new farms in Lesotho and Swaziland.

The land problem arose when President Robert Mugabe introduced a new land
act which, wholly affected the rich white farmers and few blacks
vehemently,condemned the Modus Operandi,adopted by the goverment.This
resulted to rampant killings and mob actions by the war veterans and some
political thugs.Precisely,so many people have lost thier lives as a result
of it.There is starvation in the land right now.It is all over the news.

Heads of Goverments from the West, especially Britain and the United States
of America have voiced their condemnation of Mugabe's plan.
Subsequently, the South African Development Communities (SADC)has
continuously supported Mugabe's new Land Reform Act.It is against this
background that my family and I who are currently living in South Africa
have decided to transfer my father's money into foreign account. As the
eldest son of my Father,I am saddled with the responsibility of
seeking for a genuine foreign partner who will help me transfer this without
the knowledge of my Goverment who are tactically freezing our family's
wealth and South African Goverment seems to go along with them.

I am faced with the dilemma of investing this money in South Africa for fear
of encountering the same experience in future since both countries have
almost the same political history.More so,the South African Foreign Exchange
Policy does not allow such investment here because I am seeking asylum.

As a person whom I entrust my future and that of my family in his hands,I
must let you know that this transaction is 100% risk free and the nature of
your business does not necessarily matter. Therefore if
you accept to assist my family,we are willing to offer you 25% of the total
sum of your assistance,70% for my family's investment and mean while 5% is
mapped out for all expenses that may occure in the course of this
transfer.I would wish to invest in your commercial property based on your
advice and I would also receive assurance that you wouldn't sit on this
money when transfered into your personal or company's account.

If this proposal is acceptable to you, please do send to me your personal
details private telephone and fax numbers for easy communication. You should
know that this business is highly confidential and shall be kept within you
alone.

Waiting for your urgent reply,God Bless.

Yours truly,
FRANK WILLIAM[for the family]
