"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: urgent cooperation


Sir,



I am Mallam Mutum Biu of the telex/money transfer Department of the Central bank of Nigeria. My boss wants us to familiarize with you and execute top secret relationship originating from our office.

On the process of contractors payments, it was discovered that some unclaimed bills still exist on the schedule emaneting from over-invoicing. Investigation revealed that former officers of this unit who were redeployed without notice due to complaints contractors attempted to credit part of the unclaimed bill to a foreign account but failed due to greed. My boss and I routed the payments through a Diplomat to Amsterdam, Holland into Ivory Finance securities for save keeping.

Now, I have been mandated to familiarize with you, negotiate what you will take as commission for providing the back-up need to credit your account number for our interest. Help. Contacting you is in perative due to your integrity, personality, investment experience as assured by a trade attachee to a consulate. We are interested in Real Estate, Five-star Hotelling and manufacturing business.
