"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: CAN YOU BE TRUSTED?.

Dear Sir,

In all honesty I introduce myself as Mr.Karl Hammond, son of a white tobacco
farmer of german origine in Zimbabwean . My Father was murdered in December
2002 by war-veteran/green bomber gang. Because of president Mugabe's Land
reform/accumulation politics against white farmers and the ernorme taxes on
tobacco products my Father before his murder secretly deposited the sum of
US$1.8 millions with (A.D.B) African Development Bank here in Ghana. After
his murder the government froze his accounts in the district Karoi and the
capital Harare.

Access to the frozen accounts has neither I nor my Mother(the next-of-kin to
his fortunes).
Even to seek justice in the law court is simply too dangerous for me and my
mother. Because of this situation, we're looking for an honest and a
trustworthy person with character who understands our requests well and
ready to provide a foreigne account to transfer this money out of (A.D.B)
for an investment.

I must be completely open with you so that we can work together If we agree
with the participation conditions to assist us. We can discuss your
cmmission after receiving your answer.
I request your telephone as well as your fax. And am ready to make an
appointment to meet with you abroad after receiving your answer. In the hope
that you keep this matter a top secret for obvious reasons,

I remain,

Yours sincerely,

Mr.Karl Hammond
