"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Dear beloved,

I sourced your e-mail address from the internet directory as we have not
previously known each other. However, every relationship begins one day. I
am Nagamany Pulenthiran, a goldsmith and the first son of Mr. Mylvaganam
Mulenthiran who was murdered alongside the entire family in the land dispute
in Zimbabwe, which I think you, might be aware of. My late father was a
farmer and goldsmith in Zimbabwe and owned much land there.

Since after the death of my father, the land problem in zimbabwe have
continued and when it became very risk for me, I went into hiding, because
Robert Mogabe the president of zimbabwe is after my life and my fathers’
wealth because of the land dispute which killed many white farmers and my
father was one of the victim because he was not in support of the president
even right now there is a lot of demolition going on in Zimbabwe.

Before the death of my father he had taken me to London to deposit the sum
of us$38 million (thirty eight million USD) in one private security company
as if he fore saw the looming danger in Zimbabwe.

Now I feel like investing this money in your country. I therefore solicit
for your co-operation to take delivery of this fund into your custody for
any profitable investment that will be mutually beneficial. I will be able
to arrange all necessary procedures to ensure smooth movement of this funds
until you are in control of it.

Please let me know if you are interested by return mail and also include
your full names and contact telephone number to enable me call you. I will
also want you to provide me with the following information as below.

1) THE BANKING POLICIES OF YOUR COUNTRY
2) WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A FOREIGN INVESTOR IN YOUR COUNTRY
3) WHAT ARE THE RIGHT AND BENEFITS OF A FOREIGN INVESTOR IN YOUR COUNTRY?
