"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Attention sir

My name is Franklin Green.I hail from Sirrie Leone in
west Africa

I came across your contact in my search for a genuine
and trustworthy business man.

I want you to assite me to claim and transfer the sum
of $7.5musd which i inherited from my late father who
was shot dead by rebels during the war in my country
to sign a contract deal for supply of crude oil.
Unfortunately, the rebels shot him and that was the
tragedy that struck my family.

It happened that he deposited a trunk box containg
$7.5musd in a security company here in Ghana with
instruction that i am the next of kin. This he
declared to the security company as family treasure.
He also instructed that 15% should be donated for
charity .

This information was strictly made known to me
and my mother who is now with me in a camp in Ghana
since the government refused us entrace in the main
city

He adviced also that we should contact a trusted
foreign partner to assite us transfer the funds out of
Ghana for investment and manage the charity fund for
distribution for allmotherless babies anywhere in the
world.

Sir with due respect, your commission and share for
your assitance will be discussed as soon as i hear
from you. I have interest to invest in Agriculture and
real property/estate business.

I thank you for making time to go through this
proposal and promise you a mutually beneficial
business relationship. Please call me on
