"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Investment Partner in your country

Dear Sir/Madam

Greetings!

You may be surprised to receive this letter since you don't know me personally. My name is Mr. James Natamugu, the son of Dr. Rockson Natamugu, who was recently murdered in the land dispute in our country Zimbabwe. Your contact was availed to me by the chamber of commerce but was assured that you are highly reputable and trustworthy if you will be of assistance.

My late father was among the few black Zimbabwean rich farmers murdered in cold blood by the agents of the ruling government of President Robert Mugabe because of his alleged support and sympathy for the Zimbabwean Opposition party controlled by the whites. Please find this link should you like for more details:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_reform_in_Zimbabwe

Before my father's death, he took me to Johannesburg South Africa to deposit the sum of US$ 17.5 Million Dollars (Seventeen Million Five Hundred United States Dollars) only with a security and finance company as if he foresees the looming danger in Zimbabwe. The money was in a box and deposited as a valuable artifact consignment belonging to foreign partner, to the security company for safety and to avoid seizure.

This money was given to my father by President Robert Mugabe for investment purpose while he and my father were still in good terms but he diverted it. The land problem arose when President Robert Mugabe introduced a new land act, which wholly affected the rich farmers, and some few black farmers eventually vehemently condemned the modus operandi adopted by his government. And that resulted to rampant killing and mob actions by the veterans and some political thugs precisely; many people have been killed.

Heads of government from Western World, especially Britain and United States of America have voiced their condemnation of President Robert Mugabe's plan but, the South African Development Community (S.A.D.C) has continuously supported him. It is against this background that I and my family who are currently staying in South Africa have decided to transfer my father's money into a foreign account.

As the eldest son of my father, I am saddled with the responsibility of seeking an account where this money could be transferred without the knowledge of my government who had tactically freezing our family wealth and South African Government seems to be playing alongside. We have decided not to invest this money in Africa for the fear of seizure and encountering bad experience in future, since both countries have almost the same political history. Moreover, the South African Foreign Exchange Policy never allows such investment hence we are asylum seeker. I here entrust my future and that of my family in your hands and hope you don't disappoint me. I must let you know that this transaction is 100% risk free on your side. We have unanimously agreed that you will be entitled to 20% of the total money in the security company after you successfully receive it in your account. Note that the nature of your business is not relevant to the successful execution of this transaction.

Therefore if you accept to assist my family, we are willing to accept any reasonable condition you may deem necessary, and we can as well go into partnership business with you. Please reply immediately to facilitate action toward this transaction, and kindly provide me with your personal telephone and fax numbers for further details and immediate commencement of the transaction. Please you should not hesitate to inform us earlier if you can not handle this transaction with us to enable us look for another person when it is not too late.
Best regards

Mr. James Natamugu.
