"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Date: Tue, 9 Aug 2005 04:59:50 -0700 (PDT)
Subject: From Miss. Grace Williams


Dear Friend,

I am the above named person, and i know you don't know me in person, but i am writing you this mail only to sick for your assistance, because my late father Dr. Simon Williams deposited a Trunk Box in a Trust Security Company here in Abidjan, and the content of the Box is $4,800,000. Million United States Dollars, and for your information, the people in the security company did not know the content of the Trunk Box.

Furthermore, all i needed from you is for you to assist me in transferring
of the Trunk Box to your country, and assist me with a letter of invitation
that will enable me to obtain my visa in order for me to come and meet with you in your country, for us to discuss on how to invest the money in a good business. So please if you are willing to assist me try and reply my email on time, so it will enable me to give you the full contact address of the security company for you to contact them on my behalf on how they are going to delievered the Trunk Box to your country.

Finally, i will be looking forward to read from you, and let truth and honesty be our watch word in this transaction.
