"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Binti Khamas

Good-day my dear,
I am the wife of late Brig. General Ibrahim Khamas. My late husband was a senior official of the Iraqi Inerior Ministry who was shot dead in the month of May 2005 by gun-men in Zaafaraniyah, Iraq. My husband died instantly while, our driver and I was critically injured.
I got your email address through a reliable help net-work right here in the hospital where I am presenstly receiving treatment. My inner consciousness assured me of your reliability and trustworthiness, and I do hope that you will treat this transaction with utmost confidentiality and understanding.
I need your urgent support and assistance to clear the sum of US$120,000,000.00 (one hundred and twenty million US dollar only) which my late husband deposited in a security company in another country outside Iraq before his untimely sudden death; for onward deposit in a safer bank account pending when I will be discharged from the hospital and declared physically fit to travel outside Iraq. The money is legal and free from any local and international laws, and will neither jeopardise your career not bring you to disrepute.
My late husband deposited the trunk boxes containing the money as "FAMILY TREASURES' in the said security company on the 1st of May, 2004, and, an agreement was reached that the boxes will ONLY be cleared after 12 months(one year) which is now due for clearance since on the 1st of June 2005. My husband died a month to the maturity/expira-tion of the agreed time of clearance. As you can see, the money is now over-due for clearance while I am bed-ridden here in the hospital; hence, the need to contact you.
I do not want to loose the money in that security company for reasons of over-stay or ill-health etc in view of the fact that my doctor said it may take about 3 or 4 months more before I could be physically and medically fit to travel outside Iraq. Therefore, when the money is being cleared, you will keep it safely pending my arrival in your country or anywhere you choose to keep the money, for disbursement and discussion on profitable investment.
Infact, I am ready to offer to you about 20% of the total sum for your assistance, and 5% for any expenses that may be incured during the transaction.
Your urgent response would be appreciated, through my personal email address:- bintiibrahim_generalkhamas@yahoo.com <mailto:bintiibrahim_generalkhamas@yahoo.com>
More details will be provided by me on receipt of your response.
May the Most-faithfull and Most-gracious ALLAH guide and protect you as you render this help to a widow.
Regards.
