"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: YOUR KIND RESPONSE.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to present to you my sincerest apology by sending you this mail you do not expect at this time. .

I,am William Probyn son of Dr.Samuel Probyn, who was murdered in cold blood with my two sisters by rebels sympathetic to the Sierra-Leone crises .I and my mother Mrs Eunice Probyn inherited the sum of $18million U.S dollars from my father who was the Managing Director of Lakeside Mining Company, responsible of exploring Gold, Diamond as well as other precious gems. He was also involved in the politics of Sierra Leone and contributed to the success of politics in Sierra Leone before the war started.

But before the war started he took all his money away and deposited it with Ghana Commercial bank Treasury department here in africa and for safe keeping and onward transfer. He made the bank to understand that the total sum of money belonged to his foriegn business associate abroad.

I have made several attempts to have the money withdrawn to be used by me and my mother to travel abroad to invest the funds wisely. But the Bank Manager do not allow me to access the money, until the money is transferred first before I could have access to it, my late father made the deposit with a condition attached to it for onward transfer into a foreign account.
This is the reason i'am contacting you to help me stand before the bank as my late father foriegn business associate so that the bank canb release/transfer the funds abroad.

As long as you can act as a sole beneficiary of the fund if only it is acceptable by you, I have my full promise to give 20% to you as a commission for your assistance and 5% set aside for any expenses you are going to make out of this transaction. I will also be grateful if you could please keep this very confidential because me and my mother ran to Ghana because of our safety.

I will urge you to please contact the treasury department Ghana commercial bank with the informations below:

Email(treasurydept_gcb@freeghana.com )

I will be very much pleased if you can help us . I will go with my mother to obtain the change of ownership and power of attorney document to your name from the high of court justice in ghana, as the next of kin .And i will want you to also sign an agreement with me so i can trust you and be sure you agree to take 20% of the money for your assistance and invest the rest with your wise advice in your country.

With this documents obtained and signed by me as the next of kin to this funds ,in the high court of justice here in ghana, the bank will release this money to you, without any question .All you need to do is to tell the bank were you want the money to be delievered or transfered to .It may suprise you but is the truth and no one is suppose to know that we are alive and in ghana that is why you must keep this as a top secret to yourself alone.
Please do contact me with this informations below so i can send all the documents regarding this transaction to you so you can understand wisely.

May God bless you.

William Probyn.
