In appreciation of your esteemed contact received
through a reliable source and the choice of your
country, I wish to introduce myself. I am
Fidel Suleman, Senior economic adviser and deputy
director of the office of the late president Laurent
Desire Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Since the assassination of the president on the 16th
of January,a lot of things have emerged from different
news media.
Apparently I was the only eyewitness when Lt.Rashidi
Kasereke shot and killed the president. Once
honourable bodyguard with no apparent history of
mental disorder. In a country known for its penchant
for conspiracy theories, it is no secret that Kabilla
had enemies, evenon among his supposed allies.
He was intransigent everything, and was facing
problems with his ranks. In recent months, the army
had grown increasingly restive, with some troops
reportedly threatening to revolt over pay demands.
It also surfaced that he was falling out with his
generals,some senior officers wanted him to stop
meddling in military affairs. Because he was taking
money intended for new weapons to fight the advancing
allies turned enemies, ragtag rebels line up against
Kabilla with Rwanda and Uganda backing rebels since
August 2nd 1998.
The sad simple fact is that Kabilla when he seized
power in May 1997, he was hailed as a new hope, but he
turned out to be an autocrat in Mobutu Sesse Seko's
mould (his predecessor). Despotism deepened, the high
hopes he had raised were rapidly dashed and the list
of enemies kept pace, ethnic conflicts had flared up.
And the war has effectively split Congo into half,
with Kabilla and his allies controlling the West and
the South and the rebels and their own allies
controlling the north and west.
The trade in diamonds, gold and oil, cobalt, uranium
and timber has made the territorial integrity of Congo
threatened as well as the stability of its neigbhours.
Sadly enough, Kabilla, like his predecessor has sucked
and siphoned off much of the nations abundant wealth
and money directly from the coffers of state
bureaucracies into private security companies and
accounts locally and overseas. In view of this, I have
contacted you to help me move over US$15.5Million
United States Dollars).
This money was destined to procure more weapons from
Armscor in South Africa, but was neatly diverted to a
private security company.
I have resigned from work in the wake of chaos arising
from the assassination of the president.
More than 7 senior generals and over 380 soldiers from
the Kivu region have been rounded and executed by the
security forces of the DRC, following the slaying of
President Laurent Desire Kabilla. This money is very
important to me that is why I want to invest it
overseas and relocate myself from South Africa where I
have been hiding since escaping from Kinshasa.
I promised to offer you 25% of the total amount for
