"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: Discovered Fund

Dear Sir,

Compliments of the day.I can not withhold my grief further than this.
Unfortunately for me I lack the means to meet you personally, thank God
though, the world has been narrowed by technology and science.

I am Paul, named after my late father, Paul Dyke ll.b( cambridge)
ll.m(london)Ph.d, one time Chief press secretary to the state Government to
Republic of Ghana . I am a graduate of Management as my poor mum was able to
see me through.

Sir, my writing this mail is necessitated by the documents I discovered
recently in my Dad's personal effects. A Bank voucher which has the
following particulars-

NORTH BANK OF SCOTLAND
59 Palmerston Palce,
Edinburgh,Soctland Eh12,
5Au UK.
info@northbankofscotland.net
customercare@northbankofscotland.net
AC/Name: Paul Dyke
AC/NO: 456120722

Armed with this information, I contacted the above bank for confirmation of
the credit in the account and also to request for payment . I received
series of correspondences from the Bank confirming the sum of Eight million
three hundred sithy five pounds (8,365,000 POUNDS) indicating therein the
sequence of lodgements, however my request for transfer of the funds have
been saddled by one officious demand or the other.

I have the assurance of the management now to get payment if I supply the
requested acknowledgement from my Dad's referee. This said referee, Mr.
Gregory clemence,my Dad's ally overseas who had a face-off with my Dad when
he lost a shot in politics, has been contacted but seems very indifferent to
our plight, I therefore made recourse to the Bank which responded through
their legal department officer Mr A.Lewis esq. that they will only consider
my request if and only if I contact a trustworthy suretee, which they insist
shall be a foreigner as they express distrust for Africans.

I therefore, with utmost sublimity, pray you to assist my ailing Mother and
myself in claiming this money by firstly contacting the bank with the above
address for verifications before entering into a sureteeship agreement with
me to be signed in counterparts by us to be forwarded to the Bank and to
thereafter receive on my behalf into your account or any bank account
designated for this purpose the due credit in my favour.

My Family will also be very grateful if you will incorporate us into any
good field of exportation so as to ensure good investement of the money,we
shall be interested in exportation of luxury accessories, leather, furniture
and general articles of worth. Your candid assistance will also be
compensated with agreed percentage from total sum.

I shall be very grateful and willing to undertake to satisfy any reasonable
demand by way of interest you may request for this assistance as my
familyhas looked up to a reversal of our ugly financial state since after
the Government froze all my Father's local bank accounts on false
allegations of money laudering.

Receive high regards from my family in anticipation of your kindly
assistance.

Your's sincerely

Paul Dyke Jnr.
Kuffo Dyke
