"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: DEAR BELOVED

MRS SISSY SLY
54 PORTLAND PLACE,
LONDON.
W1N 4AD
DEAR BELOVED,

PLEASE ENDEAVOUR TO USE IT FOR THE CHILDREN OF GOD.

I am the above named person from LONDON. I am married to MR PATRICK SLY who
worked with BRITISH embassy in CANADA for nine years before he died in the
year of the Lord 1999. We were married for eleven years without a child. He
died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Prior to his
death, we were converted and became born again Christians. After the death of
my husband, I decided not to re-marry or have a child outside my matrimonial
home which the holy Bible condenms vehemtly.
When my late husband was alive, he deposited the sum of£7.5 Million (seven
Million five hundred thousand pound sterling) with a security and mortgage
finance firm here in UK.Presently, this money is still under the safe
keeping of the firm.

A couple of years ago, I was diagnoised with cancer which has eaten deep
into my body system. The state of my health has deterioted so much in the
past few weeks that my doctor told me that I have less than 7 months to live
as a result of complications arising from the cancer.Having known my fate
which seems not to be redeemable unless there is a divine intervention in my
life (which I pray for everyday),I have decided to donate this funds to a
church, a Christian organisation or individual That will utilize this money
the way I am going to instruct herein. I want the unds to be used to help
the needy, orphans, sick and homeless children
and widows and to spread the word of God around the globe. The Bible made us
to understand that Blessed is the hand that giveth.

I took this decision because I don't have any child of my own that will
inherit this money and I don't want my husband's hard earned money to be
misused by unbelievers and in an ungodly manner. Hence the reason for
taking this bold decision.
I am not afraid of death for I know blessed are the pure in heart for they
shall inherit the kingdom of God. I know that I am going to be in the bossom
of the Lord. I know that the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my
peace.

Because of my ill heallth, I will not be able to speak with you or even
communicate often via emails with you. I had to wirte this email to you
through the help of a kind nurse in the hospital. With God all things are
possible. As soon as I receive a positive response from you, I will
introduce you to a good and trusted attorney here in London who will take
care of the legal proceedings to ensure that the right of ownership to this
funds is transfered to you.

You will be issued a letter of authority by him that will empower you as the
authorised recipient- beneficiary of this funds. I want you and the church
to always pray for me because the lord is my shepherd. My happiness is that
I lived the life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord
must serve him in spirit and truth.

Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein.
Hoping to hear from you as soon as possible.
Remain blessed in the name of the Lord.
