"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Dear Friend,

(Private/Confidential).

I am Mr.Kabelo Masinga. a director in the Department of
Agricultural Resources gauteng province Republic of South Africa.
Forgive my indignation if this message comes to you as a surprise. I
am contacting you concerning a deal which i have on ground and i require
your support and trust to execute it perfectly.

During our auditing in this department,I came across some
amount of money belonging to a deceased foreign contractor in this
department: Mr.Sheu Yuan-dong who died with his wife and their only daughter
on February 16,1998 in a plane crash.

His file has been dormant in this department without any claim of the
fund in our custody from his relation before my discovery
to this development. The said amount is U.S $15.5.00(FIFTEEN
MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND UNITED STATES DOLLARS).I want you to know
that I never master minded the death of the deceased fellow.
Their death occured Naturally. Please View the website below:

http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9802/16/taiwan.crash.update2/
NOTE: THE FACT THAT YOU ARE NOT A TAIWANESE WILL NOT POSE
ANY PROBLEM FOR THE SUCESSFUL TRANSFER OF THIS FUND INTO
YOUR ACCOUNT.

All arrangementS to claim this fund as the Bonafide next
of kin to the deceased has been put in place and directives will be
relayed to you as soon as you indicate your interest and willingness to
assist me and also benefit your self from this great business
opportunity.
Here in the Republic of South Africa as a civil servant,we
are not allowed to operate a foreign account. This is the actual
reason why it will require a second party or fellow who will forward claims
as the next of kin to this department and also present a foreign account
where
he will need the money to be re-transferred into on his request.

The law stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed
after seven years, the money will be transferred into the state
treasury as unclaimed funds. The request of a foreigner as next of kin
in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a
foreigner.

My colleague and I as natives of south Africa cannot stand
as next of kin. I dont want this money to go into the state treasury
as unclaimed Bill. Be assured this transaction is 100% risk free. In
conclusion of this Project, you will be entitled to 30% of the total

sum as gratification, while 60% will be for me.Please you
have been adviced to keep this as a "top secret" as I am still in
service and intend to retire from service after I conclude this deal
with you. I will fly down to your country for the sharing of the
fund according to percentages indicated above and further investments
will be discussed. On your acceptance to be my partner, please email for a
brief discussion before we proceed. Please keep this proposal secret, even
if you dont want to assist me. I look forward to receive your urgent
reply to notify me of your decision.

Yours faithfully,
Mr.Kabelo Masinga.
