"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

*****AN URGENT BUSINESS PROPOSAL*****
Attn
It is with trust and confidence that I write this day to establish a
business relationship with you, and as well present to you this urgent
and important business proposal for our mutual benefit, I am CHRIS
BENARD, Director of operations, contracts award and supervisory Committee the Nigerian National petroleum corporation (NNPC). I was assigned by my colleagues to seek for a foreign trust worthy partner who will be reliable to assist us in the transfer deal of $45,000,000.00 (fortyfive million united states dollars only) .The above-mentioned amount accrued from a deliberate over-invoicing of
a particular contract awarded and executed under my ministry in the
year 2002. The original contractors who executed the said contract were
dully paid and we are left with the excesses which is now floating in an account with the central bank of Nigeria (CBN) and we have been
safeguarding this fund since that time, waiting for an appropriate safe
opportunity when the money can be transferred into a private account for our personal benefit. The urgent need now to transfer this amount was as aresult of the recent order by the president, federal republic of Nigeria, that all outstanding debts owed to foreign contractors by this government should be paid immediately in order not to over-burden the Federal Government with debts and as a result of that, we havedecided to take good advantage of this opportunity to present you or your company as the beneficiary of the floating amount ($45,000,000.00).We have agreed to compensate you with 35% of the total
sum for your assistance, while 60% will be for us, the originators of
the deal here in Nigeria, while the remaining 5% will be used to settle
incidental expenses that might be incurred throughout the entire
transaction by both parties. The nature of your company's business is
irrelevant to this transaction and as such cannot create any barrier as all arrangements has been perfected for a successful and hitch-free
transaction. Note that we have also taken measures to ensure that there is no risk involved on your part at all. If it is you wish to render the anticipated assistance to us, Please do not hesitate to contact me
immediately on the above email address or telephone for further discussions. We have estimated that this transaction will be concluded within (14) working days upon confirmation of your sincere and genuine interest to assist. It is also important to note that every of our dealings on this business should be strictly confidential.
GET BACK TO ME AT MY EMAIL ADDRESS (chrisbenard2008@yahoo.com)

CHRIS BENARD
