"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP

Greetings,
Please don't be surprise about my letter because I don't know you before.
I am only in search of help that is why I contacted
you after I got your contact from the net and I hope I am lucky to get your
help and co-operation.
Though i am not a Ghanian am from Sierra Leone but I and my Mum are living
in Ghana (A COUNTRY IN WEST AFRICA) the reason why we are in Ghana now is
cause we came for the claim of my father consignment. My father name is Mallon
Garri,we are five in numbers in my family including my father and my mother
but am the eldest of all,a Boy and two Girls, but thing went total wrong for
us last three year, there was war in our country and my father and my two
sisters were all killed left with me and my mother all alone.so me and my
mother had to move out from Sierra Leone through the UNITED NATION CARGO
SHIP and went to Abidjan a neighbouring country next to us and we were living
there.
While we were there in Abidjan my Father lawyer had to come and locate us
there in Abidjan, when he came he then gave to us my father death certificate
and some document that was given to my father by a company in Ghana,(Consolidated
Safe Limited).and he made us understand that he deposited some huge amount
of fund worth $45million which he Made from sale of diamond, cause my father
did own a Diamoning company in Sierra Leone before he was killed. My father
lawyer did explain to us that my father deposited the fund as family valuables
for safety reason,so unknowing to the company it fund he deposited.
So me and my mother had to leave Abidjan for Ghana,It was very difficult
for us here in Ghana when we came cause we did come to Ghana all alone not
with other Sierra Leonian so it was difficult for us living here and finding
a place to live so we had to go and live in Ghana Refugee Camp(Buduburam
Refugee Camp).then after days there in camp we had to go and look for the
company, when we got to the security company we were told at the company to
provide all the relevant documents that was given to my father at the time
of deposit and his death certificate and other documents from the court.
We were able to provide them with all the requested documents, next they told
us that my father had registerd the consignment on express transfer to leave
Africa so they cant deliver the consignment to us cause we are inside Africa. We
were later advised to look for some one outside Africa who is lling to help
us contact them and demand for our consignment then they ll deliver the consignment
over.I am hereby soliciting your assistance to be my foreign partner and
adviser because cause we really dont know much about investment and we need
you to assist me for investment of this fund in your country because am 25yrs
old While my mother she is 48yrs old.and you will be entitled to (20%)twenty
Percent of the total sum, for your assistance.
Your compensation for the assistance is negotiable while (5%) five percent
of the whole sum will be mapped out for any expenses. After the success of
delivery of the consignment to you,and you are going to make arrangement
for me and my mother to meet you over in your country for investment of the
fund and start a new life.I know we have never met, but i want to trust you
and please do not let me and my mother down when this fund being delivered
