"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: Very Urgent

PRESIDENCY: FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Dear Sir,

I am Barrister John Udeh, an agent to TransCredit Union Inc. here by
notifying you about a sudden incident that just happened recently down
here involving one MR. ROBBERT WILSON by name, a citizen of United State
of America. Infact, it is a sad story to narrate but meanwhile it happened
to be a currious and incurrable thing to me and out there. A group of
hoodlums came and attacked them during a conference at the Nigerian National
Theatre & Arts, while they were revealing the contract that the Nigerian
government has just awarded to him. This happened after their meeting and
MR. ROBBERT WILSON was shut dead, and also one senator ALHAJI BUKARU
MUSTAFA.

However,it was also recorded that the sum of $20,000,000.00 was left in his
account with TransCredit Union Inc. You know as a forengner, we do not need
to abandon his money with the bank just like that. Hence, I have contacted
you encouraging you to act fast about this situation. Late MR. ROBBERT
WILSON was a very good and trusted man, but it is quite disheartening that
nobody cares about this man and we on our own part are dismayed concerning
this whole sittuation. An iroko tree which fell down need some fire wood
out of it and cannot be wasted that is our culture.

We have a complete file of this man with us here in the bank but I am given
out this information to you as a secret and will never like the bank to know
that I am the one who had just passed out this information to you. So, I
suggest that you should apply for immediate release of the funds to you as
the Next of Kin. You have nothing to worry about because I am going to guide
you in all legal and logistics matter to ensure that the funds are released
and transferred to you as the legally approved beneficiary.

Please hurry up or if you can't stand for him kindly contact any of his
relatives or his
friend(s) who can be able to claim late MR. ROBBERT WILSON Estate.
Please we need an urgent response to this effect and do send you phone
number to enable us discuss this matter properly since there is no secret on
the Internet.
I look forward to hear from you.

Yours Faithfully,

Barrister John Udeh.
