"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Secretary- Tenders' Board.
Republic Of South Africa's Ministry Of Works' & Housing.
May I take the honour to introduce myself. I'am Mr. Buthulezi Micheal
(JR.), The Secretary of a FIVE- MAN Tenders' Board Committee of the
Republic of South Africa Ministry of Works and Housing.
I have been mandated by my colleagues to search for a reliable and
honest foreign associate to help us realise a business venture
involving
the sum of UNITED STATES DOLLARS TEN MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND
ONLY.
This money is intended for investment in the property sector/ Charity.
This committee was given the responsibilty of awarding contracts to a
consortium of foreign companies for the supply of Broadcast equipment
for the successful hosting of the 2010 Federation of International
Football Association (F.I.F.A.)World Soccer championship which my
country has been granted the hosting right by the world football
governing body and also the renovation of one of the designated stadia
intended for this purpose.
These contracts were valued at United States Dollars Eighteen Miliion
Five Hundred Thousand Only.
My colleagues' and I, decided to help ourselves by over invoicing the
actual contract value to the tune of UNITED STATES DOLLARS TWEENTY NINE
MILLION ONLY.
This money has since been approved for payment.
However, the respective contractors are now been paid and the projects
are near commissioning leaving us with the excess amount of UNITED
STATES DOLLARS TEN MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND ONLY. which is
currently been Lodged in the government eschrew bank account with my
country's Reserve Bank, ready to be transferred within ten Bank-Working
days from the time of submision of an application for it's claim.
As civil servants, we are prohibited by the Code Of Conduct of the
Civil Service Commission from operating Dollar or Offshore Bank account of
any kind, hence this letter to you.
We have carefully mapped out the modalities to lay claim of this money
as soon as we find a realiable and trustworthy foreign associate in
whose custody we shall entrust this sum of UNITED STATES DOLLARS TEN
MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND ONLY.
This transaction is hitch free as long as you adhere strictly to our
instructions.
The need for strict confidentiality can not be over emphasized,
considering the nature of this transaction and the personalities
involved.
May I state here that all expences from the start to the end of this
transaction will be shared by both parties.
All we ask is your total comitment and trustworthiness.
We have unanimously agreed that your share of the money will be twenty
percent for your assistance and participation.
Details of how we intend to carry out this project will be discussed as
soon as we get a response from you.
