"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 19:34:16 +0000
Subject: Partnership

My Dear,

My name is Mr. Kenneth Jones; I work in a Security Company in Nigerian.
There is a good friend of mine who died recently, he was killed by some
political gang men. he lodged some fund cash {for safekeeping in our
company}

He gave me instruction when he was still alive to look for a reliable
foreign partner who can receive the fund on his son behalf, and manage the
fund for him until his the beneficiary his son leaves the country with his
mother for some security reasons. All l need from you is to assist in
receiving the box that contain the fund as our beneficiary until when the
real owner arrives our country. The fund in question is $5 million United
States dollars.

You are required to send your full contact information Your full name,
Contact address where the box that contain the fund would be delivered to,
and your telephone number for Quiet communication. Your urgent responds is
highly needed for further proceedings.
Kindly help you will be adequately rewarded for assisting.
