"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Your lottery prize details.

Attn: Daniella Bastien

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! We have received your confirmation email.
There were four winners in your category and you are very fortunate to win
this amount of money. Our bank First National Bank South Africa has been
mandated to remit your prize pay out to the total value of #750,000 (Seven
hundred and fifty thousand Pounds Sterling) after you have met the entire
obligation required in International transfers. First of all, I will list to
you the conditions stated in our agreement with the British Lottery Company
and the Bank of England in transferring prizes to non South African
citizens.

1- Prize transfers are only made by bank-to-bank transfer and no checks are
issued.

2- All prize pay outs has to be transferred after we have made all
verification and according to the rules and regulations of the Reserve Bank
of South Africa which is our governing bank.

3- We will not be held liable for mistakes caused by omission by winners in
providing accurate details of their bank account where they wish prize pay
outs to be transferred.

4- All administrative costs and processing fees will be charged to prize
beneficiaries as no deductions are made from prizes because of the Insurance
Policy placed on prize pay out by the British Lottery Company. We are
mandated as the paying bank to transfer all prizes in full.

5- Any breach of confidentiality on winning details by prize winners will
cause automatic disqualification.

6- Winners who want to visit the Republic of South Africa and stay while
their payment is been processed can do so at their own discretion and
expenses.

7- Prizewinners must send to us a proof of their age as anybody below the
age of 18 is automatically disqualified.

8- Note that prizewinners have one month to claim their prizes from the day
they received the winning notification.

You should read and understand these terms before getting bank to me so that
I can send you the necessary forms to fill. Congratulations once more from
