"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: FOR YOUR PERSONAL ATTENTION !!

GATEWAY BANK PLC
77 AWOLOWO WAY
IKEJA LAGOS.

Sir,

I have been highly desirous of starting my own business for a very long
time. But the suitable opportunity had hithertho been elusive. Please read
this with care. I am approaching you with the hope and inner desire to link
hands with you in my quest for freedom and emancipation from labour
exploitation by the ruling class, who own a greater percentage of the bank
where I work . My name, is Richard Maduako, a staff of Gateway Bank Plc, a
community bank committed to providing the personal services that every
customer deserves.
Presently I am the Head Of Remittance Department and also the custordian of
the numerous awards that the bank has won over the years since its inception
in 1981. A very good opportunity has presented itself to me for my own
personal investment due to the successful guided liquidation of a moribund
company here in our country-- THE NATIONAL FERTILIZER COMPANY(NAFCON).
The NAFCON was moribund because of the high government subsidy it enjoyed
for so many years and the government can no longer continue to subsidise the
running costs of the company. Now that it has been successfully privatised,
I see a gold mine in the making because of its strategic relevance to our
economy and the enormous needs of its products by our farmers. The company
has the potential of becoming the largest company in our country in the next
five years. I am certain of this projection. If the winners of the bid have
the common sense to take the company to the Nigerian Stock Exchange to allow
for public investment, the rush would be unprecedented.
I want to be ready for this when it happens because I believe that will be
the next move they will make. I want to pair up with you to invest a large
sum in the company, my money. Not your money. I would do a lot for you in
terms of compensation.
The NAFCON is a very large plant and can accommodate large investors. I have
secure access to over $47 million US dollars which has been carefully
turked away for the past five years in our bank. I need to channel the
investment of this money through your company. With this fund I would want
you to come in as an EQUITY INVESTOR on my behalf because we can not be a
service provider to the company at this point in time. The company has not
yet taken off properly. But as time goes on, maybe in the next three years,
we can approach the company as a service provider in any of their key areas
of operation.
What do you need to know to assist you in your decision making in this
regard? I can remitt the funds out to you through one of our United
Nations(UNO) accounts here because I have a good rapour with the Zonal
coordinator of the organisation here and he will let me use The
organisation's "Campaign Against Polio Account - - Health Africa" for this
purpose. It is a very safe means of transferring the funds out to you.

Could you kindly consider this and see if it might work from your own side?
Let me know your opinion if you think something might hinder its success.
The NAFCON project can never fail. The new NAFCON will invigorate private
sector participation in Agro-Technology in our economy and I want to be part
of it. I have taken measures that will shock you, to ensure that success is
mine and I will stop at nothing now that I have made up my mind to do it.
Any attempt by any person or group of persons to frustrate or stop me will
be met by very stiff resistance, including the use of violence from me, if
the need arises. Such a person will be crushed like an insignificant insect,
infcat, a bug that does not deserve to live. Please do not be afraid, I have
the resources, spiritual, financial and physical at my disposal. Be
courageous. I have done everything that needs to be done to ensure that this
funds is successfully remitted out to you for investment on my behalf. I
need your sincere help and cooperation.
Because of my keen interest in investing in the new NAFCON, I had to go and
see the liquidator, Chief Olusola Adekanola, in Abuja and he gave me very
confidential information about the sale of the company. He also gave me
vital information concerning the payment procedure for the effective
takeover of the plant by the winner, O-Secul Nig Ltd. From my discussion
with him, I understood that this company has only paid up fifty percent of
the bid price, $152 million dollars(USA). They are shopping for funds and
that is where I must come in. Let us do something about this. I can handle
without any problems whatsoever.
Tell me about your self in your response. I will give you my private direct
telephone line but email communication is very secure and much safer. Think
about it, please.

I await your response and opinion.

Richard Maduako
