"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

I am Williams Thomas a citizen of Ivory Coast.I am 19 years old boy. I know
that this letter will come to you as a surprise nevertheless, I will like
you to treat the matter as urgent as you can once you receive this message,
my contact to you is a divine contact from the direction of our Lord Jesus
Christ, hope you will not let down this trust, as I am quite sure that you
are also a believer.
Sir,I am the only son of late Mr. and Mrs. Charis Thomas, my beloved mother
died when I was 3 years old. Whlie My late father died last year.But before
his sudden death he revealed to me where he kept some official documents the
finance Bank, issued to him during the time he deposited the sum of
US$17.Million in my name in a finance bank here.
In case he did not survive his illness, that I should make an anrrangement
with a foreigner in Abroad who will contact the bank as his foreign business
partner to claim the money. Because, of that reason I will like you to help
me and receive this money on my behalf as my late father,s business
associate. As I do not want the money to be invested in this country,
because I am affraid of my late father's enemies.
Please, if this letter touches you and you are willing to receive this money
on my behalf with honesty and with the fear of God, please just get back to
me immediately so that I will give you more details about the money and also
advice you on what to do.
