"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Your co-operation pls

Dear Sir,

I am Mrs Henry Bjorn working with Fidelity Bank Plc, I have contacted you to
assist me to recieve cash valued at $8,500 000.00 which my husband left
behind before his death on April 4th 2005.

My husband was the head of civil service here in Lagos state Nigeria.
According to tradition and custom here, all my husband asset will be handed
over to his brothers and extended relatives leaving me and my only child
with nothing and the family assessor will be coming to me this month for
valuation.

As it stands now I can not even make my intentions pubilic as to avoid
embarrassment from the relatives. Please with all humility I plead and
request for your honest and sincere cooperation to enable me achieve my life
time dream. Bind in mind that it is legal project without any risk, so on
receipt of your positive response, we shall then discuss the sharing ratio.

Take note that you have nothing to spend apart from stamp duty your Bank
account, where the money will be transfer to, with our Bank so that no body
else can change it apart from you.That is the only thing you have to do and
nothing more and I will work out the rest.
