"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dear Friend,

Dear Friend,

With due respect to you as I apologize if the contents hereunder are
contrary to you moral ethics. But please treat with absolute secrecy and
personal. I am an employee of a Commercial bank here in Dakar-Senegal and an
Account Officer to a deceased customer of the Bank.

We lost this customer and his family in a plane crash in Cotonou, Benin last
year Dec 26, 2003 and his account of US$10,500,000.00 (Ten Million Five
Hundred Thousand U.S Dollars) with us has been dormant and unclaimed due to
unavailability of next of kin/relatives to claim his estate.

You will read more stories about the crash on visiting this
website:www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/africa/12/26/benin.crash/

In accordance with the laws governing inheritance here in Dakar-Senegal, the
Board Of Directors of the Bank met a forth night ago and resolved to turn
the estate of the deceased over to the Government having waited for too long
without the deceased relatives/next of kin surfacing and if this is done,
invariably the funds will end up to become Government property and it is as
a result of this that I am moved to contact you considering the fact.

According to Dakar-Senegal laws, at the expiration of 2 (Two) years, the
money will revert to the ownership of the Dakar-Senegal Government if nobody
applies to claim the fund. Consequently, my proposal is that I want you to
stand in as the next of kin to the deceased since you bear the same last
name with him, so that the fruits of this old man's labour will not get into
the hands of some corrupt government officials.

In view of this, I am seeking for your co-operation and understanding to
stand as the deceased next of kin to enable us claim the inheritance before
the time period given by the Bank elapse. If you are interested and in
agreement with me, please write back immediately through the alternative
email address provided below. Be rest assured that it is a risk free project
and the proceedings will be shared 50% each once the funds are repatriated
into your account anywhere. You can response through my professional Email

Address:williams_robert22@hotmail.com

Also note that as soon as you show your interest; please always check your
email, for further important guide and directives to ensure a successful
transaction which will be beneficiary to you as much as I would. Please also
send your Telephone number, so that you can be contacted too for better
explanation of this project. Looking forward to your very prompt
response.

Regards,

Mr. williams robert
