"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: From Michael.

Dear Friend,

I know that this my proposal letter will come to you as a surprise package
and I will be glad and grateful if you accept to do this business with me.
The business I want you to do with me will give us too much money in feature
only if we have to keep it secret and confidential within us so that my boss
will not know.

My name is Michael Ogaeme the supervisor in the money printing house of Dr.
James Obali who formally worked in the minting and printing Central Bank of
Cote d’Ivoire. Dr James been my boss is one of the richest men in the
western region of Africa and he has the best printing companies all over
western side of Africa which is just a covering up as his real business that
gives him too much money is to print most of the west African countries
currencies.

My boss has a company in Europe that uses to supply him with the chemicals
that he uses for the printing of African currencies, this time the company
is not able to supply my boss as much quantities as they normally supply
before, due to the high demand of the chemicals from the company that made
the company to increase the price of the chemicals which is highly affecting
my boss now that made him not to be able to print as much money as we
formally do. I have a contact of another company in Europe which is willing
to supply the chemicals as much quantity as we can be able to buy and I
don’t want to introduce my boss direct to the chemical company because if my
boss knows the chemical company, he will take me out of the deal and he will
not want to pay interest to me as the connector and there is nothing I can
do about it.

This is why I decided to work with a foreign person who can be able to buy
out the chemicals direct from the company and stand as the supplier of the
chemical so that my boss will come over to buy the chemical from your hand
so that my boss will not know the direct contact of the chemical company. We
will buy the chemical from the company at the rate of $15,000 Euro par 0.5
litre and sell it to my boss at the rate of $35,000 euro par 0.5 litre of
which my boss will be very willing to buy as much quantity as we can be able
to supply him because he normally buy the chemical from his contact company
at the rate of $37,000 euro par 0.5 litre.

If you are able to do this deal with me that means you will stand as the
supplying Agent to my boss and in every supply we made to my boss 50% of the
total profit will be for me while 50% will be for you. If you are interested
to do this business with me let me know so that I will connect you with my
boss for you to discuss more with him about the supply and I will also give
you the contact of the chemical company as soon as you conclude about the
supply with my boss. For your information, I will search for another person
to do this business with if I didn’t hear from you on time. I will give you
more information on what to do as soon as I heard from you.

Best regards.

Mr. Michael Ogaeme.
